Busted Accountability Alerts is operated by Coach Henry LLC. The public SMS opt-in form is the exact place where a recipient gives consent. Opt-in type: web form.
Submitted permission is saved as pending verification. Phone ownership, the teammate connection, provider approval, and messaging activation are separate steps. No text is sent by this form.
How opt-in works
- The recipient opens the SMS opt-in form from the website’s SMS information page or a link shared with them.
- They enter their own name and mobile number, plus the name of the person they want to support.
- They read the program disclosure and the linked Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. The SMS consent checkbox starts unchecked.
- To give permission, they personally check the box and select “Save SMS consent.” They can instead choose “Continue without SMS,” which submits no details and saves no consent.
- A successful submission displays a receipt and a private withdrawal link. A failed submission does not display a successful receipt.
Joining from a teammate invitation
A private link shared from Busted opens this same form with the person’s name already connected to their team. The recipient enters their own name and the invited number, reads the disclosure, checks the initially unchecked consent box, and saves their choice. Saving does not send a text.
The receipt provides a private management link. When phone verification opens, the recipient can select “Text me a verification code,” then enter the six-digit code. Only a code approved by our verification provider can mark the number verified. A new invitation is required if the previous link expired or was replaced. Alerts remain off until messaging is activated.

Directly below the checkbox, the form links to the Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy and explains that mobile numbers and SMS consent are not sold or shared for third-party marketing.
What permission covers
Permission covers recurring automated protection-status alerts about the specific person named by the recipient. Alerts may report disabled protection or loss of contact and may include a short personal accountability note. They do not include browsing history or marketing. Consent does not apply to other people, brands, or campaigns. Entering someone else’s number does not give consent on their behalf.
Consent records and activation
We privately record the submitted names, mobile number, exact disclosure and version, form source, submission time, and whether permission is pending, verified, or withdrawn. We retain these records to manage participation and document consent. Form submission alone does not verify phone ownership or establish an app teammate connection, and it does not authorize immediate sending. Only the recipient can complete the separate verification steps needed before alerts are enabled.
Withdrawing permission and getting help
The private link on a successful receipt opens a page where the recipient can select “Withdraw SMS consent.” We record that withdrawal and cancel alerts still waiting in Busted’s queue for that teammate connection. A text already handed to the carrier may still arrive. Retrying an old submission or replying START does not restore withdrawn consent. STOP applies across Busted SMS alerts for that number; joining again requires fresh web consent and phone verification. If the link is lost, contact support@getbusted.org.
